ParticipantAt my current organization the HR application process and maintenance of employee files are currently paper-based.
The immediate steps I would implement would be to either identify an electronic system to automate the application process or to outsource this task. Whichever is most cost-effective at the time would be my choice.
Benefits of Automating The Application Process
1. Elimination of Excess Paper (Cutting Costs)
2. Reducing Time and Manpower (Maintenance of Files/Cutting Overtime)
3. Increasing Application Process Turnaround Time
4. Improving Time to Hire Rates
5. Mitigating the Risk of Lost Files (Through Theft or Natural Disaster)Electronic Maintenance of Employee Files
Benefits of Uploading Files vs Paper-Based Files
1.Cost-effective and environmentally friendlier
2.Files can be backed up and recovered (Risk-mitigation)
3.Ease of locating files opposed to using a paper-based system
4.Reduction in Manpower (Staff can be retrained and assigned to other areas of the business)
5.Mitigate the risk of damage/theft (Natural Disaster or Fire)
6.Less storage space and equipment required (smaller furniture budget, less cluttered workspace)-

Participant1. In Person Training Sessions: Currently, training sessions are conducted via zoom which allows for other distractions. On site sessions (in person) should be an option to allow for interaction, feedback, role-playing and a more engaging learning environment.
2. Spacing: The training sessions are conducted in succession leaving only a few minutes to log-on to another meeting. Trainings should be at least 2 days allowing for a more effective method of retaining and reinforcing the information instead of cramming as much as possible into 8 hours.

ParticipantPower Principle: Its not about efforts, its about results.
After completing Module 1 the above-mentioned Power Principle impacted me the most.
Operating with the end goal in mind is crucial to ensure that the company’s goals, individual staff goals and customers’ goals are all achieved. Many times we become exhausted and prematurely excited over what we are doing, the resources we are using and we lose focus on the actual goal we should be meeting. Being strategic and by checking in with all stakeholders during the process we can ensure that we stay the course. One must communicate regularly, pivot and adjust where necessary and be candid and open to change when things are not aligned and going in the direction of the proposed goal.
I have employed this strategy as early as today by collaborating with my team, checking in and revisiting our goals and encouraging feedback.
