Welcome to Module 6 of the 40 Under 40 Challenge!
Today’s module focuses on the theme of Performance Management. We will be hearing from our Featured Speaker Mrs. Nakessa Beneby. Nakessa Beneby is the Head of Human Resources for The Bahamas and TCI at CIBC Caribbean. As the head of HR, Mrs. Beneby oversees all HR functions for CIBC, including setting strategic performance management goals across all regional branches and offices. Nakessa will discuss with us the importance of performance management and how organizations can use this process to improve productivity and increase engagement.

Post-Module Group Assignment
This module focused on the importance of performance management in developing employees, fostering engagement and increasing productivity. Your group activity for this week is to design a performance management plan for your company that includes the four (4) stages highlighted in the pre-reading for this module. Each stage of the process should be well defined, include specific action items and communicate expected outcomes.
Here are a few things to consider:
- The workplace as a multigenerational environment means that a one-size fits all approach has a low chance of being successful. Your plan should consider the needs and expectations of Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z.
- First time managers need a tailored training path and consistent mentorship to help them be effective and continue to grow in their new roles. How will your plan provide this much needed support?
- Technology plays an important part in ensuring the performance management process is as seamless and as convenient as possible for employees who prioritize efficiency in their day-to-day work. Think about how you will leverage technology in creating a performance management process your employees at all job levels will fully embrace.
